The geared motor controlled by a rheostat fluctuates speed randomly due to the semi-random range of incoming currents. The 'wing' is made of light weight aircraft fabric. Phasing, timing, relativity, repetition, and randomness were all thought about when creating the moving 'lens' to view the earth change.
